The Roads are Bad, I Have Some Free Time, and I Want You To Make a Huge Hurricane Relief Donation

So this morning I was planning on heading down the highway to Kananaskis in the heart of the Rocky Mountains of Alberta to attend a conference featuring some cool speakers like Dr. Stuart McGill of Low Back Disorders and Ultimate Back Fitness & Performance fame, Justin Price, and a host of other k-bomb droppers. On top of that, it’s freakin beautiful in that neck of the woods.

As a result, Mother Nature decided to put a crimp in my plans of getting nerdy with it by hitting the province up with a layer of freezing rain, 6 inches of snow, and “ice pellets,” which essentially means mini hail. This winter cluster of hate and awful made driving damned near impossible, turning the streets of Edmonton into soup, spinning tires and creating havoc that tripled the time for our commute to and from downtown, which meant I had to cancel my travel plans. Sad Face.

As much as this sucks, I was able to get some no-charge cancellations on the hotel and car rental so I’m not really out much, and I even managed to book in 15 clients for the Friday and Saturday so far, so I’m good to go. It also means I have some free time to get some catching up caught up, writing some epic blog posts such as this one (wait for it, it’s gonna happen), and getting a few workouts in to combat the Halloween candy that had to be eaten before it got cold and stuff. I call it Carb Front-Loading.

Now as much as it sucks when Mother Nature wreaks havoc, this is nothing compared to what the Eastern seaboard of the US is going through right now in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Having just been in New York a few weeks ago, it hits hard knowing where a lot of the locations that were heavily damaged were places my wife and I walked along or through, and knowing a lot of good friends who are dealing with the possibility of no power for an indetermined length of time.

However, in the face of every tragedy, the good in everyone tends to come out through volunteerism, public assistance, donations, and the wishing for everyone to get through it in one piece. I want to help out in a big way.

SO HERE’S THE PLAN….

I’m going to have a promotion on for anyone who purchases my digital products Post Rehab Essentials, Muscle Imbalances Revealed Lower Body and Muscle Imbalances Revealed Upper Body. I will donate 100% of all net income between now and Wednesday, November 7th, 2012 to the Red Cross for Sandy Distaster Relief.

Yup. 100%. You can get your learn on and feel good that the money you paid will be going directly to the Red Cross to help those who need it the most.

If you aren’t interested in picking up a copy of any of these products, you can still donate to the Red Cross directly by clicking HERE and doing an on-line donation. If you have already picked up a copy of any of them, you can still donate through the link above as well, and the more the better.

A lot of research has been done into how people donate and what their motives for doing so are. Everyone agrees that donating towards meaningful charities is a fantastic idea, but not everyone does because the reciprocity is usually fairly low. People want to feel they get something in return for their contributions. This is a reason why charity golf tournaments, $250 a plate dinners, and silent auctions are so successful, as people get a tangible benefit to forking out some money to help a great cause.

This helps give you a dominant motive to getting a bunch of great products to increase your knowledge and help you get stronger, better, faster, more Kanye-er, and also help people who need it now more than ever. You win, the Red Cross wins, and people can start picking up the pieces knowing there’s a larger segment of the population giving them a hand up.

Get on this today, get your learn on, and feel good knowing the money is going to a good place. The promotion ends this coming Wednesday, so get on it quickly. Share this post with everyone you know, get as many people involved as possible, and let’s make a massive donation.
