This is one of those rare occasions where we can say we had back to back months with a Friday the 13th. Does this mean Mike Myers will come back from the grave and start terrorizing even more kids at a lake? Let’s hope so.
If you haven’t picked up a copy of Jen Sinkler’s recently massive update on Lift Weights Faster 2.0 yet, the sale price of only $39 for over 180 workouts (including one from yours truly) ends tonight at midnight. This is an awesome product that gives some fantastic general-fitness programs for improving strength AND cardio simultaneously. Often the two components are placed at arms length from each other even though they’re intrinsically linked to each other and should in fact be trained together fairly often.
As an added bonus I’m sweetening the pot. All you have to do is email me your receipt (Clickbank blacks out all payment info, so no worries on that), I’ll send you a free digital copy of my video series Foam Rolling 101. I’ll also give you front-of-the-line access to my two upcoming products. This access will be 1 full week before general releases, and also for $10 less than the initial launch pricing. So as freebies, you’ll get a free $67 video series, and early access plus save $20 on two major products in the pipeline. Sounds pretty sweet, right? And all you have to do is pick up a copy of Lift Weights Faster 2.0 and email me the receipt at THIS email address. My assistant will track everything and send you your download links. But you HAVE to do it by the end of the day to get the credit.
I’ve only got a couple of events in the very near future, partially by choice seeing as how we’re in the last few months of building a house and we’re looking to take possession in the early part of Summer, which means all of the fun stuff that goes with that.
That said, I still have two big events coming up. First, I’ll be speaking at the Kansas City Fitness Summit this year, May 1-2 in Kansas City. This event is always awesome and is a fantastic collection of some very well connected presences in the fitness industry, plus an excellent opportunity to get to see some folks get close to black-out drunk and make very well-meaning fools of themselves. Plus there’s barbecue. And fitness talks. Can’t forget those.

Second, I’ll be presenting a full day workshop in Edmonton on June 6th on Complete Hip Training and Conditioning. The hip is essentially the cornerstone fo the entire body, and most movements involve either beginning or ending with the hips involvement. It’s a highly mobile yet often under appreciated joint in training, and I want to show how to assess the structure, strength, mobility, performance characteristics, and develop a training program from all of that to use with everyone from joint replacement clients to elite athletes competing on Olympic or professional scales.
To give you an idea of why you should come, here’s what a pretty big deal said about some of the work I do.
“Dean Somerset is a movement genius. What does that mean? He is the opposite of why most people become frustrated with fitness. He will make you better and remove your pain–all while helping you see more results. It’s what the best coaches know how to do, and Dean is part of an elite group.” – Adam Bornstein, New York Times best-selling author, Bornfitness.com

This was a piece written by Jeremy DuVall that I was fortunate to contribute to, alongside Kelly Starrett of MobiltyWOD and Supple Leopard fame. We break down when and how to do some very intense mobility drills, and also what to look for to know you’re getting the best bang for your buck. As a general rule, nothing works for everyone, but everyone should try everything at least once to see what happens.
Tony Gentilcore and his fiancee Lisa Lewis are currently exploring the farthest reaches of Australia, a place I have never been before, and Tony’s even given the reins of his site over to Lisa to write about their adventures. I love Lisa and her sense of writing, and it’s been cool to see what they’ve been up to, including MAMILs, animals, and coffee. You can check out their currently up to date adventures including DAY 1, DAY 2, DAY 3, DAY 4, DAY 5, and DAY 6 to see what they’re up to. I thought it was a cool way of putting up blog posts, and you’ll really enjoy reading them too.
That should about wrap it up today. Check out all that stuff and get back to me when you’re done. Or don’t. Whatever, it’s your life.
