Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect as little as possible, we don’t use tracking cookies, and we never sell your data. The rest of this page spells out exactly what that means. It covers deansomerset.com (the “site”), operated by Somerset Fitness Ltd.

What we collect

We only collect information in a couple of specific places, and only when you choose to give it:

• Newsletter sign-up. When you subscribe, we collect your email address and, if you share it, your first name — nothing more. We use it to send you the newsletter and the occasional update, and for no other purpose.
• Movement assessment. If you fill out the optional assessment form, the details you enter there are handled by our assessment provider so Dean can follow up with relevant guidance.
• Emailing us. If you email Dean directly, we keep that message and your address so we can reply.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or cross-site trackers. To understand what’s working — which pages get read, roughly where visitors come from — we use privacy-first, cookieless analytics. The data is aggregate and anonymous: it can’t be traced back to you as an individual, and we don’t build a profile of you or follow you around the web.

Services we rely on

A few trusted third parties help run the site. Each only receives what it needs to do its job:

• Kit (formerly ConvertKit) manages our newsletter and stores subscriber email addresses and names.
• Vercel hosts the site and provides the anonymous, cookieless analytics and performance measurements described above.
• Exercise.com powers the optional assessment form and processes the answers you submit there.

Each of these providers has its own privacy practices governing the data it handles on our behalf.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell, rent, or trade your information. We don’t run advertising trackers, and we don’t share your details with anyone except the service providers above who need them to make the site work.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as it’s useful for the reason you gave it — for as long as you’re subscribed, for example. Ask us to delete it and we will, except where we’re required to keep something by law.

Your choices

Every newsletter email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and using it removes you from the list. You can also email dean@deansomerset.com at any time to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you.

Children

The site is meant for adults and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

As the site grows and we add features, this policy may change. If we start collecting something new, we’ll describe it here and update the “last updated” date at the top of the page.
