10 Commandments of Mobility

Today I wanted to share a somewhat long but still entertaining and very informative interview I did with Rick Kaselj of Exercises for Injuries on the 10 Commandments of Mobility. I break down what some of the big rocks are that I try to hit when it comes to getting clients more range of motion and using it better with each workout, and I’m sure you’ll get a lot out of it.

For those of you who have the attention span of an excited dog [SQUIRREL!!] I’ll break down the 10 Commandments discussed in the interview, but you have to watch the video to see the discussions of what and why each is important:

  1. Structure determines mobility
  2. Begin at the foot
  3. Fascial work is not stretching
  4. Breathing is a keystone to mobility
  5. Limited mobility in one joint robs mobility from another to get the job done
  6. Use the nervous system to get best results
  7. Muscles are incredibly dumb
  8. There’s a lot of factors that can affect mobility, the LEAST of which is muscle length
  9. The body will always adapt
  10. Poor alignment stays with you.

Not only was this a content heavy interview, we also had some fun with it shooting some jokes back and forth, discussing kids playing Wrestlemania on places feet shouldn’t be placed, and superheroes.

This coincides with a re-release of Ruthless Mobility, a video workshop I filmed with Rick in Vancouver back in April. Since the initial launch in October, we’ve also added continuing education credits, physical DVD options, and also some additional content that wasn’t previously available, and then we went and put it on sale.

This workshop is one of the most comprehensive resources on the market to detail the scientific application of training concepts based off specific anatomical and physiological mechanisms that have proven effectiveness. The combination of theoretical lecture and intensive hands on session makes this a product where you can confidently learn not just what to do but how to do it to get the most out of your mobility.

You can get the entire workshop, plus all the bonus material for as low as $40, but the sale price is on only until Friday at midnight, so act quickly.

NOTE: If you purchased Ruthless Mobility in October, you’ll automatically get access to the continuing education credits.
